British 90's supergroup the Spice Girls are considering a reunion to perform at Princess Diana's memorial concert in July next year.
The Spice Girls have been touted to reunite several times before but at one time or another at least one of the girls declined. On the most recent occasion last year the girls considered reforming for 'Live8' but Melanie Brown declined. Since her relationship with actor and comedian Eddie Murphy ended in acrimony earlier this month it seems that all the girls are now willing to take part.
Emma Bunton who has been appearing on the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing TV show recently said she is still in touch with Prince William and added: "I still get a Christmas card from him and think, 'Wow!' I would love to do something with the girls again. It would be great to sing at Princess Diana's concert."
Mel B has invited the rest of the girls along to her baby shower at her home in Los Angeles where no doubt the subject of the reunion will raise its head.
The band, Emma Bunton (Baby Spice) Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice), Mel C (Sporty Spice), Mel B (Scary Spice) and Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice), became one of the most successful acts of the 90's selling 53 million records although they were just as well known for the embodiment of their slogan 'Girl Power' which empowered a generation of young women and made the 'ladette' an integral part of 'Cool Britannia'. |
