SPICE GIRLS DITCH TOUR PLANS

Baby Spice says they won't play live this year.

The Spice Girls have postponed plans for a world tour this year, following disappointing sales of their latest album, Forever.

Baby Spice Emma Bunton said: "No, there definitely won't be any [shows] this year, maybe we'll do some in 2002.

"We're all really busy with our solo stuff. I'm hoping to do my own tour this year and I'm also bringing out a single in the spring."

The single will be called What Took You So Long? and her debut album will be released in June. She has co-written every track.

"Now I've just got to decide which ones should go on the album," she added.

In an interview promoting the Forever album last November, Melanie C had said: "We should be touring by next summer at the very latest." music3w.com also learnt in November that agents were planning a 10-date tour.

However, Forever only reached a disappointing Number Two in UK charts, and was kept off the top spot by Westlife. It now languishes at Number 80, while Westlife's Coast To Coast is still in the Top 10.
