SPICE GIRLS:

"I'M NOT WALKING OUT ON THE SPICE GIRLS"

Melanie C opens her heart to national newspaper.

Melanie C has spoken openly about the persistent rumours that she is about to leave the Spice Girls.

Talking to reporters from The Mirror newspaper at Tuesday night's Madonna concert at the Brixton Academy in London, the star tried to reassure fans by saying: "I'm not walking out on the Spice Girls."

"It's true I've had my problems being a Spice Girl, but it's something I can handle," Melanie admitted. "What I want to say is that Mel B, Emma and Victoria are my very dear friends and I would never do anything to let them down."

She went on to reveal that she will be spending most of next year working hard on her eagerly-awaited second solo album.

Melanie C's new single, If That Were Me, is in the shops now. All royalties from the single are being donated to the Kandu-Arts homeless charity.
