Super Furry Animals release their fourth studio album "Mwng" on 1 May. Explaining the album title, SFA frontman Gruff Rhys said, "Mwng means 'mane'. No specific animal in mind, but I suppose it's an extension of a Super Furry Animal, something that keeps you warm, because it's a winter album. But we're releasing it on the first of May."
Said to have a more electronic feel than the band's previous offerings, Mwng also features SFA's first cover version - Y Teimlad, a song by Welsh group Datblygu. It was recorded in Anglesey, Cardiff and Bath and mixed at Stiwdio Ofn by SFA and Gorwel Owen, who co-produced Fuzzy Logic and Radiator. |
