BRITNEY SPEARS CHECKS OUT OF REHAB

Starlet Completes Treatment

Troubled starlet Britney Spears has "successfully completed" her one month rehab programme at the Promises Malibu Alcohol and Drug Rehab Treatment Facility and is now at home.

Britney Spears leaves rehab after the minimum 30 day stay although centre staff usually ask clients to stay for 45 days and periods of three months or more are not uncommon in some similar treatment centres.

The singer's manager, Larry Rudolph, issued a statement released on Tuesday by her record label, Jive Records saying Britney Spears has left rehab after "successfully completing their program. We ask that the media respects her privacy as well as those of her family and friends at this time.

Britney entered the rehab centre last month after two previous 24-hour visits following a string of erratic episodes where the starlet shaved her head, swapped clothes with a stripper, was photographed without underwear and beat up a car with an umbrella. Reports of the singer's copious use of various illegal drugs and alcohol had contributed to her family becoming concerned about the starlet's state of mind.

Britney was tricked by her family into attending a meeting with them, estranged hubby Kevin Federline and her manager, Larry Rudolph in which they backed the singer into a corner until she agreed to attend rehab. Britney had been led to believe the meeting was arranged to talk about a reconciliation with K-Fed.

Whilst in rehab Britters wasn't exactly the model patient with various reports of the starlet running round with 666 scrawled on her head and shouting "I am the antichrist" and more recently of a passionate romp in the bushes with a male patient.

Rumours would have us believe that Britney's high profile divorce scrap may be coming to an end with reports that the starlet will offer K-Fed around $10 million.

Britney and Federline have joint custody of sons Jayden James and Sean Preston.
